Overview

Uganda is one of the best birding destinations in Africa and arguably the world with over 1000 bird species documented. It does not matter where you are, there are birds to be seen. The scenic, serene and lush green nature amplifies the birding experience wherever you go. Even better, all these birding spots are accessible to all visitors. There are Savannah land bird, Wetland birds and forest birds, so depending on the species of birds you would like to see, you can visit any or all these sites.

Mabamba wetlands, Echuya Forest reserve, Semiliki National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Bigodi swamp, Kibale Forest National Park, Mountain Rwenzori National Park, Mgahinga National Park, Murchison Falls, Budongo Forest, The Royal Mile, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Lake Mburo National Park, Lutembe Bay to mention but a few.

Shoebill Stork, The African Green Broadbill, The Green-Breasted Pitta, The Great Blue Turaco, The Shelley’s Crimsonwing, The Standard-winged Nightjar, The Short-tailed Warbler, The Doherty’s Bushshrike, The Bar-tailed Trogon, The Black- breasted Barbet to mention but a few.
