The 18 days wildlife safaris is a thrilling adventurous activity that will take you around a number of national parks in Uganda such as Kidepo NP, Murchison Falls National Park,Kibale NP,Queen Elizabeth NP and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, This safari will start and end in Kampala then take a flight back home.

Gorilla tracking is dependent on the permits availability at the time of your booking. Gorilla permits in all parks are on a very high demand and we advise that you book them as early as possible.
Itinerary
Arrival at Entebbe Airport and transfer to your hotel for an overnight. Arriving at the airport you will be warmly welcomed by our guide who will then transfer you to your booked hotel for an overnight.

Entebbe – Sipi falls (Kapchorwa) passing via Jinja. Drive distance: 300km approximately 7-8 hours’ drive. After an early morning breakfast, you shall set off and drive to Mbale town where you will have an overnight stay and then proceed to siipi falls on the next day and kidepo valley national park.

Travel time: 6-7 hours’ drive After breakfast, you will have an option of doing siipi falls that is if time allows. This will be discussed between you and the guide to see the way forward. Sipi falls which is located in the East of Uganda approximately 277km from Kampala Uganda’s capital to Kapchorwa district. These falls are found on the foothills of Mountain Elgon just at the edge of Mount Elgon National park nearing the Kenyan border to Uganda. The name Sipi was derived from the word ‘sep’ which is a name of a wild banana-like indigenous plant that grows along the banks of the Sipi River, this plant can be used as medicine for treating fevers and measles by local people in that area. Then after you will continue with your journey to Kidepo valley national park. Kidepo is Located in the furthest corner of Uganda, in the semi-arid valleys of Karamoja province, Kidepo Valley is Uganda’s most isolated National Park. The few that dare to take the pilgrimage are rewarded with stunning scenery and an unparalleled abundance of wildlife including lions, cheetahs, ostriches and water buffalo. Kidepo also boasts a bird list of 475 species, with some of East Africa’s rarest and most sought after including the Black-breasted barbet and the Karamoja Apalis. The scenery is stunning, and the trip provides a rare glance into the Acholi and Karamojong culture, something few visitors get to experience. Arrive to the park in the late afternoon for a short game drive before retiring for the night.

Experience the beauty of one of East Africa’s most isolated and spectacular natural parks. The scenery and wildlife simply cannot compare. The best part is that the park is completely yours, with the likelihood of encountering another vehicle minimal. Spend the day exploring the beauty of Kidepo. There is an option to drive to the Sudanese border to visit Kidepo’s ostrich population, and have a bush lunch overlooking the park. Participate in an optional game drive or visit to the Karamojong communities in the afternoon.

Long day drive. – 299km After breakfast, you will depart Kidepo for Uganda’s largest national park Murchison Falls National Park, located in north western Uganda where the Nile explodes through a narrow gorge and cascades down to become a placid river whose banks are thronged with hippos and crocodiles, waterbucks and buffaloes. The vegetation is characterised by savannah, riverine forest and woodland. Wildlife includes lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, hartebeests, or ibis, Uganda kobs, chimpanzees, and many bird species arriving in the evening.

Activities for the day: morning sport fishing and an afternoon game drive.
Murchison falls is among the leading parks where sport fishing in Uganda is conducted. Fishing is mainly done along the Victoria Nile which involves catching fish along rocky surfaces, the bottom of the falls mainly the Devil’s Cauldron, and at the banks of the Nile by the anglers. Fishing along the Nile is an exciting experience though you are advised to take caution of the Hippos and Nile crocodiles especially while fishing at the River banks. As you enjoy catching fish there is always a chance to land on a huge catch; in terms of length, weight and girth. In fact record has it that the heaviest fish caught was 113kg and this was a Nile Perch. Return to your lodge for a hot lunch and later go for an evening game drive.

Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the falls
This morning after breakfast, depart for an early morning game drive across the rolling plains of Uganda’s largest National Park, where you will have chances of viewing lions, giraffes, hartebeest, buffalo, and elephants. For the birders amongst you, these areas support the secretary bird, and black chested snake eagle, to name a few. In the afternoon, go for a boat trip to the base of Murchison Falls, where the Nile thunders through a small 7-meter gap, plunging 43 m into the Nile on the way to Lake Albert. The banks of the Nile are densely populated with crocodiles, hippopotamus, and range of other wildlife that come to the river to drink. Return back to the lodge for dinner.

Transfer to Kibale forest national park Travel distance: 286km approx. 6 hours’ drive
This morning you will have breakfast and then proceed to Kibale forest for two nights. Kibale is home to an extraordinary thirteen species of primates, including chimpanzees, red colobus, and L’Hoest monkeys. Kibale National Forest has also recorded over 355 bird species, and a range of other mammals including the elusive forest elephant.

Chimpanzee habituation/tracking and an afternoon bigodi swamp walk
This morning you will go for Chimpanzee tracking along the network of forest trails. Seeing chimps squabbling and swinging from the trees is an exhilarating experience. Later in the afternoon you will have the opportunity to visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, which is rich in bird species, vegetation, and wildlife. This is also a great opportunity to support local tourism initiatives which benefit social and economic development in the area.

Travel time: 2hours drive Have breakfast and then depart Kibale for Queen Elizabeth National park for two nights.
The park boasts one of the highest biodiversity ratings of any game park or reserve in the world. Uganda’s second largest National Park, the 1,978 sq km has everything from open savannah to rain forest. Queen Elizabeth has over 100 mammal species, and an astounding 606 bird species, making it a premier safari destination. Arrive in the park in the afternoon, and go for a game drive in the early evening.

Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel. This morning, you will have a game drive to the Kisenyi area to look for lion prides and other wildlife like the Uganda Kob, elephants, hippos, buffalos and many others. In the afternoon have a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, home to one of the largest concentrations of hippopotamus, as well as herds of elephants, buffalo, and other wildlife that come to drink from the river. The Kazinga also attracts a tremendous variety of bird species including the African Eagle, Open-Billed Stork, and Pied Kingfishers.

(Northern sector) 6-7 hours’ drive After breakfast, you will drive to the Northern part of Bwindi home to over half of the world’s mountain gorilla population. Interacting with these gentle giants is one of the most moving experiences that Africa has to offer and should not be missed! The ancient rainforest of Bwindi spans 321sq km and boasts 90 mammal species, including a range of primates, as well as 23 Albertine Rift endemic bird species, including the African Green Broadbill, the Bar Tailed Trogon and many others. Relax in the evening and get ready for the following day’s gorilla tracking.

Gorilla tracking for the day and possible optional activities in the evening. This morning you will set off for gorilla trekking. Hiking through the thick, verdant, rainforest to eventually come across the gorillas in their natural habitat, is an amazing and unforgettable experience. Actual trek times can vary; these are wild animals after all. If time permits there are a diverse range of activities which are unique to Bwindi which you can participate in during the afternoon. Optional Activities: Batwa Trail: During this moving tour, the Batwa demonstrate hunting techniques; gather honey; point out medicinal plants and demonstrate how to make bamboo cups. Guests are then invited to the sacred Ngarama Cave, once home to the Batwa King to be entertained by traditional music and dance. Village Walk: Overlooking the imposing hillsides of Bwindi Impenetrable forest, with the mist swirling over the summits, this is one of the most dramatic settings for your cultural tour! Among others, meet a traditional healer, who not only treats the sick, but uses his knowledge to conserve and educate about the various medicinal plants.

After breakfast, you shall proceed to the southern sector of Bwindi with beautiful sceneries arriving at the lodge in the afternoon. Relax and enjoy the calmness, beauty and the bird sounds at the lodge for the rest of the day.

Gorilla Habituation for the day After an early morning breakfast, you shall set off for the briefing point in Rushaga sector as you get ready for gorilla habituation experience in the impenetrable forest. Gorilla habituation is the slow and gentle introduction of a family of wild Gorillas to the presence of humans. Unlike gorilla tracking where after meeting gorillas you spend only one hour with them; you will have up to four hours with our close cousins the gorillas after meeting them with the guidance of expert guides and trackers, this is indeed one of the most remarkable wildlife encounters on the planet.

ravel Time: 80 km, 2 hours
Activities of the day: Breakfast, transfer Kisoro – Lake Bunyonyi, afternoon village walk. Lake Bunyonyi (“Place of many little birds”) is the perfect place to stop for a break. The serene lake is rumored to be the deepest in Africa, reaching depths of 900 meters. The lake stretches around 25 km in length and 7 meters wide, with 29 islands scattered throughout. Travel Time: 271 km, 4 hours’ drive Activities of the day: Breakfast, transfer Lake Bunyonyi – Lake Mburo and optional game drive in the afternoon or other activities available. The adventure continues as you spend one night at Lake Mburo National Park. The 371 sq km park is an extension of the Tanzanian Plains and has distinctly different fauna compared to other Ugandan parks. It is the best place in the country to see Eland Antelope, Zebra, Topi, Impala, and Acacia. The five lakes within the park attract hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of water birds, while fringing swamps hide black and yellow papyrus gonalek. Arriving in the park for lunch you can rest before exploring the park on game drive for the rest of the afternoon.
Optional Activities:
1.Horseback Riding Safaris: What better way to explore the park than on horseback! Horseback riding safaris are available for various times and are suitable for all levels of riders including the non-experienced.
2.Boat Safari: Take a cruise along Lake Mburo which is home to dense populations of hippos and crocodiles.

Travel Time: 5.5 hours This morning you will have an option of either going for a game drive or a visit to the pastoral communities and then proceed to Kampala. You will stop at the Equator-where you will be able to stand in both hemispheres simultaneously arriving in Entebbe in the evening.
